The Not Just A Girl community would like to acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are the traditional custodians of this beautiful land that was stolen and never ceded.
We are honoured and grateful to be here on the ancestral land of the Awabakal people where this podcast is recorded. Many of our artists live and work on Aboriginal land and we wholeheartedly recognise and respect their sovereignty.
We respect and honour the Elders, past, present and future. We acknowledge their traditions, stories and wisdom and extend that recognition to their descendants. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land 🖤💛❤️
As the voice of NJAG, I am committed to paying the rent. I make monthly contributions to @grassroots_ptr and encourage others living on this land to do the same or give or show support where you can and within your means. And let’s try to do more to support Blak artists and businesses.
I acknowledge that I have much to learn and this country’s systemic racism to unlearn. We must continually work towards diversity and inclusion and try to do better. I would love to include BIPOC artists in NJAG and in our discussions, as it is not my place to speak for BIPOC folks, but instead to use this platform to amplify and support them.
